Key achievement in the preparation of Exercise001 – DLR & UkSATSE!
From 18 to 20 June 2024, German Aerospace Center (DLR) hosted a workshop with seven air traffic controllers from Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service Enterprise, along with experts in operational safety and human factors from EUROCONTROL and Integra Consult A/S.
The workshop was divided into three key parts:
- Hands-On Familiariyation and Training: Day one focused on practical training sessions in the DLR Flight Centric ATC laboratory to familiarize the controllers with the FCA operating environment, in particular with the FCA ATC-specific tools and the newly developed radar HMI.
- HMI Workshop: Day two centered discussions around the acceptability and usability of the radar HMI. The gathered feedback is essential for ensuring that the HMI development is user-centered and that the tools are user-friendly and effective.
- Supervisor Role and Tools Discussion: Day three was dedicated to exploring the role of the supervisor in the FCA concept, along with the tools and strategies needed to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
