FCA Project: Exercise 2 Execution – Open Day
We are glad to announce that the Exercise 2 FCA Project Validation Execution is approaching. It will take place from 24 March to 4 April 2025 at CRIDA’s facilities. The last day of the exercise, visitors will be able to attend the final runs in the Open Day (4 April 2025).
After Dry Run I and II, the team has been trained in the platforms iTEC and PUZZLE, and the feasibility of the operating procedures and the tools functionalities have been reviewed. Now we are ready to achieve the final Validation Execution objectives:
💠 Assess the operational feasibility and impact of introducing the FCA on air traffic control.
💠 Demonstrate the efficiency of flight allocation strategies and validate conflict detection and resolution procedures.
💠 Assess coordination between FCA controllers and with adjacent sector controllers.
💠 Verify the viability of the procedures for opening and closing FCA controller working positions.
💠 Examine cost efficiency, environmental impact, capacity, and flight efficiency.
Currently, we are working on finalizing the scenario and tests that will be executed during this phase, where the project’s final results will be obtained.
